SEE NEXT
PAGE FOR FORMAT OF PLAY RULES
FRONT NINE FORMAT – “4-BALL NET”
Each
player tees off from the tee box and play their own
ball. The
best “Net
Score” between players is recorded as the “Team Score”. 90% of a players
handicap will be used. Half of this 90%
handicap will be taken as the players nine hole
handicap. Holes will be highlighted on
the scorecard where players are allowed a stroke.
BACK NINE FORMAT -
“PINEHURST”
Each
player tees off from the tee box on their first shot. On the second shot, Player 1 must hit Player
2’s ball and vice versa. On the third shot,
team members must determine which ball they want to play for their third
shot. If Player 1’s second shot is
chosen, then Player 2 plays the 3rd shot and then players alternate
hitting thereafter, including putting.
If Player 2’s second shot is chosen, then Player 1 plays the 3rd
shot and then players alternate hitting thereafter, including putting.
70%
of the lower handicap and 30% of the higher handicap will be used for a Team
Handicap. 50% of this Team Handicap will
be allowed for the back nine holes.
Caution: Do not hit out of turn or hit consecutive
shots. You will be subject to a one
stroke penalty and you must replace the ball and the proper player must then
hit the shot. This is easily done if you
a player happens to miss a short putt and then without thinking, taps the ball
in. DO NOT DO THAT!
What
if: Player 1 hits his drive down the
middle and Player 2 hits his ball
1.
Declaring his
ball out of play and then he would hit Player’s 1 ball as the second shot, then
they would alternate shot in from that point.
2.
Playing a second
ball and then that ball would be lying three and when
Player 1 hits Player 2’s ball, that would be the fourth shot. Players would then decide which ball to hit
on their 3rd shot. Of course,
one ball is lying two and the other is lying
four. Humm,
which to choose??????
